As a Member of Parliament, I am familiar with the contribution of the Scarborough Training Centre to my own community as well as those beyond Scarborough. I attended the graduation ceremony of one of your training programs a few years ago, and have seen the Training Centre create innovative and beneficial partnerships with business, governments, schools and the community. The transition of the Training Centre from offering computer refurbishments to schools to IT training demonstrates the development of both the public and private sector relationships in our region. Now that CDI has been associated with the Scarborough Training Center International Inc. for almost 5 years, I would like to take this time to comment on the quality of STCII trained individuals, which we have hired over the years. On behalf of the Board of Directors and all parents of the children who attend the Newmarket Co-operative Nursery School, it is with much gratitude that I thank you for your very generous donation of four computer systems. On behalf of the Management, Staff and Residents of Julliette's Place, I thank you for your very generous donation of computers. While providing emergency accommodation, crisis counseling, advocacy and referrals to women and children who are fleeing violent home environments, we also strive to give our clients the opportunity to participate in both recreational and educational programs. These computers will make it possible for both women and children to learn or improve computer skills and complete homework .Women will also be able to work on resumes and cover letters for employment applications. In the last five years, I have referred clients to Scarborough Training Centre International Inc. for Computer Repair Technician training, as their program is hands on and students develop the requisite skills to become employed in an entry-level position in the I. T. field; and gain practical experience through co-op placements. Also, I have had positive dealings with their staff. I have no hesitation in continuing to refer any future clients to Scarborough Training Centre International Inc.
